Background of the Study

Knowledge management (KM) involves the systematic management of an organization’s knowledge assets to create value, foster innovation, and maintain a competitive edge. It encompasses practices such as knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation facilitation (Olabode & Olayinka, 2023). Nestlé Nigeria, a multinational corporation specializing in food and beverages, has integrated knowledge management systems to enhance organizational innovation and responsiveness to market changes.

In Kwara State, where Nestlé operates several manufacturing units and distribution networks, KM practices are essential for continuous product development and process optimization. The company's innovation is largely driven by efficient KM strategies that allow it to remain competitive in an evolving market. However, the extent to which Nestlé’s KM practices have fostered organizational innovation in Kwara State remains a subject of interest.

Statement of the Problem

Organizations often struggle to leverage their knowledge assets effectively, resulting in missed opportunities for innovation and growth. Nestlé Nigeria faces the challenge of aligning its KM practices with organizational goals to drive product innovation and operational efficiency (Ugochukwu & Akinyemi, 2024). In Kwara State, Nestlé must assess whether its KM systems are sufficiently supporting innovation in the face of global competition and shifting consumer preferences.
